Voyage Of Plastic

http://www.eurekalert.org/features/kids/2010-08/aaft-tlv081310.php

This article talks about what plastic is and what its affects. In this article they say that  many people are throwing plastic which causes many problems such as fish eating it and dying fish getting tangled in big plastic bags. Over the past 22 years ships have towed nets through the atlantic. These nets catch du-brie at the water surface. Researchers would go through the de-brie, and find plastic particles. One of the many researches are called Kara Lavender Law of the Sea Education Association and her colleagues have now analyzed those 22 years of research, they found that the amount of plastic being taken is staying stable. They found it very unusual because people have been creating than throwing away in even larger amounts for the last to decades .

Dr. Law and her colleagues have good research that may explain why plastic isn't at the surface of the Atlantic ocean. Their research have showed that the plastic breaks into small pieces that the nets cant catch. It might sink of being eaten by fish and other marine animals.

State of Matter

                       States Of Matter

Mass                      Shape                   Volume                     Heating                            Compressibility             examples

Gas: A definite mass/  An indefinite shape/   Indefinite volume /  On heating it expands real large/   Easily  compressible ,  / 02, Co2,Oxygen

Liquid: Definite mass/    Indefinite shape/   Definite volume/   On heating expands slightly/      Low compressibility/ Water, Milk, Soda

Solid: Definite mass/ Definite shape/ Definite volume/ On heating expands real low/ No compressibility/    Rocks, Metal,Wood.

The pattern that i recognized is that gas liquid and solid all have definite mass.
I also notice that the more the atoms are aloud to move the easier it is to compress.
Another thing i notice is that the Mass, Shape and Volume is definite for a solid.

MATTER

Matter is everything that takes up space and has weight. Such as pencils they take up space and they have weight.

what i want to know more about.

What i want to know more about is lab. Like what causes explosions and chemical reachtions. Another thing i want to know about is all the scientific names like h20.
